Frs. Thierry Kengne and Giovanni Matteazzi are the first two Xaverians to start our new mission in Thailand. Presently they are studying the language and culture. Fr. Thierry shares:

“We spent some times in Nakhon Sawan. It was our first visit in our would-be diocese. We went up to one kilometer to Burma. Most probably the bishop is planning to send us among the tribe peoples and Burmese refugees somewhere on the mountain. Some Xaverian sisters are proposing us to try to get the mission among Thai people since very few congregations are doing mission among them (may be only the Jesuit are doing it). Some of our Xaverian sisters in the North are working with and among the Thai people, it seems that it is more challenging but they think it is more in accordance with our purpose and it seems that it is time to share our faith with the Thai people. Any way we are still trying to understand the situation, to understand the different categories of people there are in the society, the relationship among them, to study the language and to listen to the experience of others.”
