CHARTER FOR COMPASSION TRAILER from TED Prize on Vimeo.
There is an urgent need for a new focus on compassion.
Bringing together voices from all cultures and religions, the Charter seeks to remind the world we already share the core principles of compassion.
On November 12, thousands of people across the globe will listen together. When the Charter is unveiled on November 12th, a week of celebratory activities will take place around the world – in places of religious worship, public spaces, schools, universities and workplaces. We invite you to take part.
The weekend after the unveiling of the Charter on November 12, 2009 we invite religious leaders and communities around the world to organize a service on the Charter and compassion.
On the weekend of November 13–15 thousands of religious leaders around the world will speak to their communities about compassion. These services are an opportunity for the community to discuss the Charter and compassion from the point of view of their particular religious tradition but also draw on the many tools available on this site to discuss the topic from a universal perspective.
After the service is complete, all religious leaders will have the opportunity to upload their talks and services to this site to share with the world.
