It’s Christmas every time
You smile at your neighbor
And hold out your hand.
It’s Christmas every time
You remain silent
And listen to each other.
It’s Christmas every time
You don’t accept the principles
That relegate the poor to
The margins of society.
It’s Christmas every time
You hope together with those who
Find themselves in
Physical and spiritual poverty.
It’s Christmas every time
You recognize with humility
Your own limits and weaknesses.
It’s Christmas every time
You allow the Lord
To be born again and share him
With others.
