Change the Story

One of the challenges of mission ad gentes is proding and encouraging Catholics to reach beyond the walls of their parishes and to connect in meaningful ways with those who do not believe as we do. The challenge of the American Catholic parish to connect with Islam is enormously important in our post 9/11 world. Dialogue and solidarity across religious lines helps to “change the story'” of extremism and religious stereotyping. If we could do this here in the USA, we could share what we learn abroad as well.
